Selection Criteria For Using Butterfly Valves

1. Suitable for making larger diameter valves (such as DN600 and above)

2. Butterfly valve should be used in occasions with short structural length requirements

3. It is not suitable for high temperature and high pressure piping system, generally used for mediums such as ≦80 degrees, ≦1.0Mpa crude oil, oil products, water and so on.

4. Since the pressure loss of the butterfly valve is relatively large compared with the gate valve and the ball valve, the butterfly valve is suitable for the pipeline system with less strict pressure loss requirements

5. It is suitable for selection in pipelines that require flow adjustment

6. Butterfly valve is suitable for occasions requiring fast opening and closing

7. Usually in throttling control and mud medium, short structure length, fast opening and closing speed, and low pressure cut-off (small pressure difference) are recommended to use butterfly valves.

8. In the case of two-position adjustment, narrowed passage, low noise, gasification, a small amount of leakage to the atmosphere, and corrosive media, butterfly valves can be selected.

In special circumstances, when throttling adjustment, strict sealing is required, or severe abrasion, low temperature (cryogenic) and other conditions, the butterfly valve needs to use a three-eccentric or double-eccentric special butterfly valve with a specially designed metal seal adjustment device
